Spaces of Culture

“Johannes Ebert, Secretary-General of Goethe-Institut e. V. has joint the Initiative “What did Kavala do?” initiated by Berlin Maxim Gorki Theater Arts Director Shermin Langhoff and filmmaker Fatih Akın. The initiative casts a light on Osman Kavala’s long standing engagement for arts and culture and their importance in social understanding through the voices of artists and art professionals.

Osman Kavala was a driving force in initiating Space of Culture. The project aims to support the richness and variety of cultural initiatives in Gaziantep, Izmir, and Diyarbakir. Osman Kavala’s vision of arts and culture as crucial elements for strengthening dialogue and ultimately understanding and peace within a society is shared by the project partners and lies at the core of Spaces of Culture.
