”When Nothing Happens” derives from George Perec’s question ‘What happens when nothing happens?”. The project follows the traces of those who sept through the ordinaries of daily life and intends to disrupt the flow of routines. By bringing independent artists from different disciplines together, the project takes a closer look at the system that feeds daily life, the ordinary, and unthought things. Through the testimonies of the artists, their transfer of experience, or their intuitive production, an atmosphere of dialogue and discussion is created.
The first module of the contemporary art project takes place between May and November, and covers the online talks of 10 invited artists, “When Nothing Happens, Art of Everyday Life Talks”. The second module includes the exhibitions of 12 invited artists; one at the Çatı Art Space in Izmir, Konak in October, and exhibitions spanning the daily life of Bergama in November.
