This year, ‘Spaces of Culture’s Cultural Management Training Program was organized in collaboration with A Corner in the World in the project cities in order to concentrate on fundamental topics of cultural management, combining these with a specific regional focus.
The third and last edition took place between June 10-12, inviting 15 participants from and around Gaziantep. Participants reflected on the production challenges amid worldwide issues like the economic crisis or the pandemic and how it affects arts and culture, as well as the local obstacles that may coincide with the global problems. During the three-day program hosted by Gaziantep Art Center, participants discussed the main topics of cultural management in relation to production, identity, idea development, multiculturalism, institutionalism, evaluation, cultural differences and similarities, integration, and immigration in the context of their practices and experiences. The discussion was moderated by Gökçe Dervişoğlu Okandan.
Along with group workshops, lectures are presented by the following names: Deniz Erbaş from Çanakkale Biennial, Asu Aksoy from Bilgi University on Arts and Culture as a tool to shape society, Serkan Aksak from big bang ve berisi on Antep Short Film Festival, Hasan Ergün on Gazişehir Theatre Festival, Sinan Tankut Gülhan from Gaziantep University on Getting to Know Your Audiences, Aslı Sevinç from Neol on Community Building for Arts and Cultural Organizations, Evelien Kunst on Strategic Communication, Kemal Vural Tarlan on Kırkayak Kültür, Nazlı Çevik Azazi Seiba Storytelling Technics, Sinan Egemen from Turkey European Foundation on Project Writing and Budgeting, and Ibrahim Muslumani on Nefes Music School.
