CultureCIVIC Grassroots Projects Grants Fourth Open Call
The fourth open call period of the Grassroots Projects Grants starts on 15 May 2023. Applications for the fourth open call period of the Grassroots Projects Grants, which supports cultural and artistic projects that match the needs of local communities, will close on Monday, 3 July 2023, at 18.00.
Civil society organizations with or without official status, initiatives and all individuals who want to produce projects with a non-profit mindset can apply to the Grassroots Projects Grants. Applicants must reside in Turkey. While applying with a co-applicant and/or associate is possible, all applicants are expected to document their activities in the field of culture and arts for at least 2 years.
Projects eligible for funding include workshops, seminars, symposiums, concerts, performances, theatre productions, educational programmes in all fields of art, journalistic work and documentaries, collections and archiving projects as well as film productions. In the fourth open call period of the Grassroots Projects Grants, the project duration was determined as 10 months and can be extended up 2 months.
The primary goal of CultureCIVIC is to reach beyond big cities and reach institutions and individuals who do not have or have limited access to financial resources. For this purpose, a quota is applied to applications from major cities in all grant programs. 16 of the 24 projects to be supported by the Grassroots Projects Grants will be selected from among the applications made from cities other than Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. Priority will be given to the applications to be made from the provinces affected by the earthquake and to the projects designed for the communities affected by the earthquake, which are expected to be in line with the targets and activity areas of the programme.
Priority is given to those activities which support rights-based activities, bringing together actors from different ethnic, religious, linguistic backgrounds and giving special importance to cross-cutting issues such as promotion of gender equality, LGBTI+ rights, social cohesion, human rights, freedom of expression and children’s rights.
Applications can be made through the Application Portal. Candidates can find detailed information about the conditions on the Application Guide and Frequently Asked Questions pages. Applications will close on Monday, 3 July 2023, at 18:00.
