Co-production Funding 2025 FAQ

1-) What are the start and end dates of the Co-production Funding?
Those who are eligible to receive the fund must implement their projects between May 12 – November 14, 2025.

2-) What is the role of the project partner?
The applicant needs to fully describe the role of the project partner from a specific perspective. The project partner may have advisory, training, organizational, participation, financial, structural/technical and similar functions. Confirmation of the partner’s contribution and role in the project is a prerequisite for eligibility in the application process, but it is not necessary to submit any verifying documents during the application.

3-) Is it necessary for the project partner to confirm the possible cooperation to apply for funding?
As the role and contribution of the foreign project partner must be clearly stated in the application, the partner’s participation must be confirmed. It is not necessary to submit any confirming documents at the time of application.

4-) Can I use additional sources for project financing?
You are allowed to apply for other funding sources or establish sponsorship agreements. However, it is mandatory to provide detailed information about these additional sources in the designated section of the application form and within the budget form.

5-) Where should the Co-production Funding projects take place?
Projects eligible for funding must take place within the borders of Turkey. If the funded applicant has additional project activities outside of Turkey, the possible costs must be covered by the applicant himself/herself or by additional resources outside of the Co-production Funding. The Co-production Funding cannot be used for project activities taking place abroad. All related activities and additional financial resources should be explained in the designated section of the application form and within the budget form.

6-) If I need to travel to my partner’s country during the production process of my project, can I cover my expenses from the fund budget?
If the selected applicant needs to travel to the country of the project partner during the production process of their projects, the visa process should be carried out by the participant himself/herself. All travel-related costs can be covered by the project budget.

7-) Can I apply for Co-production Funding with more than one project partner?
Yes, you can include more than one partner with different roles in your project. To strengthen newly established relationships, it is recommended to incorporate the project partners you met during the Mobility Program in your Co-production Funding project proposal. Other partners that you can include need to be based in Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, France and Turkey.

😎 Will technical or mentoring support be provided to the accepted projects after the project application?
Technical or mentoring support is not provided directly to the accepted projects. If you need this kind of support, it is possible to get it externally by including it appropriately in the project budget.

9-) Does Spaces of Culture have any rights or obligations in case the project outputs are circulated again after 2024 for reasons such as exhibitions etc.?
Spaces of Culture has no right or obligation to use the outputs of the projects it supports after 2024. The responsibility of the Space for Culture Co-production Funding is to ensure that the projects are funded within the specified period. After 2024, if the outputs of the project are exhibited or otherwise used, these activities or uses will be the responsibility of the project owners. In such cases, copyrights, exhibition permits, and other legal obligations must be managed and followed by the respective project owners or organizers. Spaces of Culture has no financial or legal responsibility at this stage.

10-) Can the visit(s) of our project partner to Turkey be covered by the Co-production Funding?
The accommodation and travel expenses for the visits of your project partner to Turkey for the project (such as production, workshops, exhibitions, event openings, etc.) can be covered by the project budget.

11-) If my project is a part of an umbrella organization (festivals etc.), do I need to show the expenses of external funds?
The budget sheet should clearly reflect how the funding you may receive from Spaces of Culture will be used in your project. You also need to outline the amount that Spaces of Culture’s funding will constitute of the overall budget for your project. You should indicate the name of the organization and the expected amount. In the application form it should be explained how the part to be financed by SoC fits into the overall project and whether this is a sub-project with specific goals and target group.

12-) If I applied for other sources and have not received an answer yet, should I still indicate it on the budget form?
Yes, you should indicate both on the application form and budget form if you applied for other sources even if the results of your application have not been finalized yet. Please also indicate the name of the institution, expected amount and when you expect feedback (weeks/months). This information will be an important input in the evaluation of your project.

13-) If I apply/receive funding from another organization after I submit my application for Co-Production Fund, should I inform Spaces of Culture?
You should inform Spaces of Culture as soon as you get an approval from another institution as an additional fund for your project.

14-) Can a person who will have multiple roles in the project be compensated separately for each role?
It is not ideal for a person who will be involved in multiple stages of the project to request separate fees for each role. Rather than charging for each of them separately in the budget this person should receive an overall fee for these different roles.

15-) How should I proceed if the project budget is in TL, but some expenditures are in Euro?
The project budget should be prepared in TL. If some expenditures are to be made in Euros, the TL equivalent of these expenditures should be added to the budget form. The Euro amount and exchange rate can be added as comments.

16-) How should I show the fees for project partners or consultants in the budget and how much of the total budget it should constitute?
The fees for project partners or consultants should be listed under the human resources budget lines of the project. As each project has different requirements, Spaces of Culture does not put a limitation for the percentage of the human resources in the budget. The ratio of these fees to the total budget should be in line with the needs and objectives of the project.

17-) Could existing physical resources (projectors, computers, etc.) be indicated on the budget sheet as applicants’ own contribution to the project?
Physical resources that are already available for the project (projectors, computers etc.) cannot be included as applicants’ own contribution in the budget plan. Self-contribution usually refers to a financial contribution. But the use of existing resources can be mentioned in the application form and the information will be taken into account during the evaluation process.

18-) What types of expenses can be listed under the human resources budget?
The human resources budget can include project management, consultancy fees, fees for professionals such as translators, workshop facilitators, etc. Invoicing status of the service providers and VAT rates should be considered while preparing the budget.

19-) Are there any differences between applying as an individual and as an institution?
You can apply for the Co-Production Fund both as an individual and as an organization. If applying individually is more advantageous in terms of project development and financial management, this method may be preferable.

20-) Can I include expenses for technical equipment and structural costs in the project budget?
Expenses of technical equipment can be covered in the budget. However, the purchase amount of technical equipment cannot exceed EUR 800 per item. If possible, items should be rented, not purchased. Structural costs cannot be included in the project budget.
