Motorhane Open Stage

Performance

Collective Production, Training

06/10 – 12/10/2025

The Motorhane Open Stage project designs and presents a site-specific performance at Merzifon Motorhane with the participation of local theater groups and Bridgeworks theater artists. As part of the October program of the Motorhane Cultural Network, the project fosters lasting collaborations and shared creative processes among artists in the region.

The Motorhane building—once an old power station—and its surrounding neighborhood are transformed into an open stage for performance artists. Theater groups and musicians explore the space, engage with the local community, and organize workshops. Throughout this process, they use the entire venue as a stage, develop an original performance, and present it as a public event.

Supported by the Spaces of Culture Co-Production Fund, the project is realized through a collaboration between MoKA (Motorhane Cultural Network) in Merzifon, the Berlin/Cologne-based interdisciplinary arts collective Bridgeworks, and the urban studies cooperative Urban.koop.
