The last leg of the International Mobility Program took place from November 6-11, 2023, in Tourcoing, Paris, and Lille, the 2004 European Capital of Culture. Twelve participants from a variety of disciplines came together with artists from France to promote cultural dialogue and develop co-production ideas.
The five-day program prepared in collaboration with Institut Français de Turquie, began with the CSNAD meeting, where Turkish artists residing in France presented their artistic practices and shared insights into the French cultural scene. The program included tours of Le Fresnoy’s exhibitions, known for their contributions to education, production, and distribution in the fields of audiovisual and digital arts, as well as Lille3000, a hub for contemporary art exhibitions. Directors from these institutions provided detailed information about their programs and operational structures. The events were tailored to stimulate co-production ideas, in line with the participants’ professional backgrounds, and included visits to organizations such as Théâtre Halle Roublot, the Forum des Images, and the Association Villes des Musiques du Monde. For cinema professionals, there were sessions at the Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image Animée and discussions at the Festival Cinéma du réel and Festival Cinéma de Turquie, offering deep insights into France’s film industry. The program concluded with a concert by Faiz Ali Faiz, who performed Sufi music at the Institut du Monde Arabe, showcasing the diversity of artistic expression and the richness of cultural exchange.
A notable feature of the program was that nearly all the participating institutions, from Centquatre to Art Connexion, offered their artist residency programs. These informations about residencies provided valuable opportunities for participants to immerse themselves in new cultural environments, explore diverse artistic methods and perspectives, and draw inspiration for international collaborations and networking.
