The second phase of the International Mobility Program took place in Stockholm from October 2nd to 7th. The program, organized in collaboration with Didem Yıldırım and Ays Alayat, offered 11 participants the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with local cultural actors in Sweden.
The focal point of this year’s mobility program was to facilitate collaborative project ideas for culture and art professionals from Sweden and Turkey to work together. Visits to institutions such as Moderna Museet, Statenskonstråd, Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, and Fotografiska served as a source of inspiration on how artworks from various fields, including photography, new media, contemporary, and public art, can come together in joint projects.
The visited places included Konsthall C, which works on urban renewal; the civil society organization Svenska PEN, active in the field of freedom of expression and literature; the Eva-Lisa Monument, which examines the issue of gender through its story; and the Queer Film Festival, established with the mission of expanding the selection of heteronormative cinema. These visits, during which social issues were discussed from different perspectives, aimed to encourage inclusivity and enrich the participants’ viewpoints.
