In cooperation with ‘Spaces of Culture, ArtsMap organized the ‘’Sustain the Stage!’’ training program focusing on performing arts and hosted by Bergama Theatre Festival during 3-4 June. The event centred on sustainable practices and how to best adopt them in our own environment and welcomed participants from İzmir, Diyarbakir, Gaziantep, and their neighbouring cities. During the two days event, Spaces of Culture’s network exchanged knowledge and experiences in the field of theatre, music, dance, and hybrid practices.
On the first day of the program, the invited participants attended panels and talks consisting part of the Bergama Theatre Festival and explored national and international festival staging. The second day was moderated by Gökçe Dervişoğlu Okandan and concentrated on training activities about co-design methodology and creating an impact while considering the 17 sustainable goals of the United Nations. Derived from these perspectives, the participants analysed micro and macro challenges in the national and international scene, as well as discussed theatre, dance, music, and hybrid practices that they stage or perform.
