The third edition of the Spaces of Culture Mobility Program was organized in collaboration with Dutch Culture, inviting 15 participants from Gaziantep, Diyarbakır, İzmir, and their neighbouring cities to the Netherlands between 26 September and 2 October. In order to get a grasp of the complex cultural and art scene, the program encompassed different locations in the country, namely Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Tilburg, and Haarlem. During the seven-day program, participants explored the Netherlands’ current artistic discourse through talks, site visits, and group discussions on the topics of urbanism, sustainability, historical and contemporary storytelling methods, theatre, heritage, and contemporary art practices.
While visiting cultural venues such as Reinwardt Academy, The Amsterdam Museum, Textile Museum, Theater Rast, Kunstinstituut Melly, Kunsthal, Het HEM, and Black Archive exhibition, participants of the program also attended shows such as “Grace” by Theater Rast, as well as “Mezrab”, a storytelling event. A special event under the name of “VoxPox” was organized by Dutch Culture, consisting of two short panel discussions and a networking event. Each panel discussion included six artists and cultural managers, in total 12 people. Six of the 12 speakers were invited from the Netherlands, and six places were reserved for participants of the Mobility Program. Following the panel discussion, a speed-dating event connected cultural professionals and institutions from the Netherlands with the program participants from Turkey for dialogue and cultural exchange.
