In order to present the range and variety of artistic production of its project partners, ‘Spaces of Culture’ has been showcasing selected project results from each project city in form of a traveling exhibition as a final event in recent years. In 2018 and 2019, projects from Izmir, Gaziantep, and Diyarbakır staged performances, exhibitions, or workshops in the other two cities, and – in 2019 – for the first time also in Istanbul. During these events, audiences and project partners from the various cities could connect and enjoy a piece of culture from each city. In the autumn of 2020, the pandemic made a complex traveling exhibition production impossible, so the ‘Spaces of Culture’ showcase events were reinvented as a series of video portrayals of ‘Spaces of Culture’s 53 project partners in 2020. Every partner is represented in a short video portrayal, featuring interviews on their work and their project’s connection to ‘Spaces of Culture’ 2020.
These portraits allow a wider representation in online media and serve to extend the virtual outreach where physical interaction is not possible. In addition, ‘Spaces of Culture’ will expand the accessibility of its communication in coordination with the organization ‘Erişilebilir Her Şey’, which specializes in creating more access to people with disabilities. In addition to new features on the project’s website, the project team will work on extending the project’s framework towards more inclusivity. These activities are realized with the special support of the Consulate General of Sweden and Anadolu Kültür.
