”Balconnection” introduces balconies as an alternative space for sharing and exhibiting art by bridging different locations through creative practices. The project advocates art as a necessity and a right for the people, infusing societies with momentum for increasing living standards and level of consciousness. With that vision, Balconnection is setting an example to push the art further to the remote areas, creating a bridge between artists and societies.
This year, Balconnection focuses on human relations and on increasing and strengthening sustainable collaborations between artists. Art endeavors who share similar concerns about production and interactions with artists join Balconnection as “Balconsul”, where they have the authority to speak and connect on behalf of Balconnection. When the “Balconsuls” see a new connection opportunity for Balconnection, they decide and negotiate on behalf of Balconnection. The second innovation is “Balcontinuum”, which expresses the development, strengthening, and sustainability of the effect: “Balcontinuum”, which enables artists previously working at Balconnection to propose other artists and to undertake the curatorship of events, ensures the continuity of the existing network and artistic relations. It makes Balconnection part of a large community with all its partners and collaborators.
