‘Let’s Dance Together’ bridges different cultures through dance and physical activities by training children and youth in hip-hop, breakdance, groove, and urban dances. Encompassing three different cities, Diyarbakir, Mardin, and Gaziantep, the project connects Turkish, Kurdish, Arab, and African hip-hop enthusiasts in workshops that culminate in stage performances. The project is organised by Navdar in collaboration with Amigo (Kadir Memiş), a four-time world champion in breakdance from FGO Future Generation Organisation.
With participants invited via open calls on social media, the first event of the project on groove and urban dance takes place at Mordem Art Center in Diyarbakır. While the second workshop focusing on diverse age groups welcomes its participants at Mardin’s Sirkhane, the last workshop is held in Gaziantep’s Masal Park with Gaziantep University students and Kids Rainbow to stage a final performance demonstrating the uniting power of dance.
