Organized for the first time outside of France, the Micro-Folie (Little Madness) Digital Museum enables visitors to see the digital versions of 250 masterpieces of art history borrowed from leading art institutions like the Palace of Versailles, Pompidou Center, the Louvre Museum, Museo Picasso, Quai Branly Museum, Universcience and the Grand Palais in France. The high resolution images of the artworks are reflected on a big cinema screen and allow the audience to zoom in to pick out and examine any single detail from the piece. Doing so establishes an even closer connection between the audience and the artwork. A gateway to discover real masterpieces, this digital platform can easily turn into a stage where artists, associations and amateurs find space to learn from one another and to perform. Micro-Folie was created with inspiration from the Folies of Parc de la Villette cultural par, which was designed by architect Bernard Tschumi, coordinated by La Villette, and carried out by the French Culture and Communication Ministry. Launched in December last year at the Izmir French Cultural Center, Micro-Folie will be open to visitors until the last week of June, 2018.
