‘Paper TV’ addresses children from different backgrounds and age groups and shares techniques for video recording with a camera or smartphone to be mirrored on television made from paper. Children between the ages of 13-15 from the region come together at workshops focussing on technical video training and augmented reality technologies while tackling various topics such as disabilities, climate change, and gender equality. Children learn to record and upload a video on a mobile app that functions as a QR code reader. Participants later interact with augmented reality technologies and mirror their creations on a TV set made out of paper. A training video explaining how to make a paper TV will be shared on the projects’ social media accounts.

The project is implemented by instructor Sulafah Hicazi, a Syrian-German artist who works at cartoon channels in Germany, and project coordinator Muhammed Elkasım Elabraş as a joint video art project.
