Mordem Art and Ecological Life Center concentrates on the art of storytelling, aiming to foster intercultural interaction. The Center brings together examples of narrative culture from various disciplines in an international festival setting. One of the most significant manifestations of this mission is the fourth edition of the ‘Solo Fest 4: Grab Your Color and Come’ festival, which centers on cultural heritage and its transmission.
The fourth edition of the festival focuses on gender equality, featuring a majority of performances staged by female actors and including two plays that emphasize LGBT+ themes. The slogan ‘Grab Your Color and Come’ signifies that the festival embraces every color and is open to everyone without discrimination.
Scheduled to take place between October 27 and November 5, 2023, the festival hosts 43 artists from various cities including Urmia, Bokan, Tehran in Iran; Amsterdam in the Netherlands; and Izmir, Istanbul, Şırnak, Diyarbakır, Mardin in Turkey. Solofest 4 offers a rich program encompassing contemporary dance, traditional storytelling forms, performance arts, monodramas, and contemporary ritual performances.
Mordem takes a step further with ‘Solo Fest 4′, aiming to increase access to art for children in earthquake zones by allocating the festival’s ticket revenues for workshops and play performances for these children.
