Spaces of Culture

Young people and teachers explore Diyarbakır’s rich culture of oral history. As part of ‘The Memory of the City Speaks’, 15 teenagers and five teachers examine methods for improving life in the city and developing urban consciousness during the ‘Oral History Workshop’. Writer Şeyhmus Diken and historian Ayşe Hür guide participants in the art of conducting an oral history study. The workshop will be recorded by the documentary film director Feyzi Baran at the centuries-old Erdebil Mansion, an atmosphere appropriate to the spirit of ‘The Memory of the City Speaks’ project.
