Underway since June, Diyarbakır Creative Arts Days is a series of unique workshops in varying artistic fields that aim to bolster artistic productivity and early-age learning opportunities for children. It presents a great chance for young learners to experience the dynamism of a collaborative environment open to diversity and community bridge-building that bonds locals with the arts. Organized by ÇocukÇa Association, a group dedicated to the support of children’s rights, young learners will have the chance to explore and grow through three distinct but cohesive artistic sessions. The first workshop enables children to express their emotions and imagination through analog drawing formats as guided by Fırat Bingöl, a creative educator who has been helping organize such innovative events for children for years. Next is Yekbun Yaş’s session on sculpting and ceramics, further helping children explore their sense of spatial awareness, motor skills and creative thinking abilities by focusing their attention on the process of taking an abstract idea and tangibly realizing it. Finally, the third workshop sees artistry woven out of waste products with the helping hand of Mehtap Alişan, a community actor who has devoted herself to helping children overcome trauma through the arts. In this way, children are exposed to the vital themes of recycling and giving back to the planet what we take out of it. Art lovers of all age groups are welcome to see the exhibitions and concerts put on by children during the workshops. Diyarbakır Arts Days is a great chance for young learners to experience the dynamism of a collaborative environment open to diversity and community bridge-building that bonds locals with the arts.
