Spaces of Culture

Organized in collaboration with the Swedish Institute for Children’s Books, Where Children Grow exhibition showcased interesting and noteworthy characters from Swedish children’s books. While the exhibition aimed to raise awareness on children’s rights of expression, the side events hosted authors and illustrators for discussions, seminars and workshops on children’s literature and children’s rights. Launched in Izmir for the first time, it travelled to nearly 20 schools and libraries in the region, including Istanbul Bilgi University and Story Castle Park in Eskisehir. The follow-up event in Izmir is planned, during which writers and academicians from Turkey and abroad will interact with children through various activities.
