Seyir Association, in collaboration with the Gothenburg Film Festival (Sweden), is organizing the third Ayvalık International Film Festival from September 20th to 25th, 2024. This year, the festival aims to create interaction among young filmmakers on different filmmaking methods and initiate a new dialogue on climate crisis and sexual identity issues through its program.
With the support of Spaces of Culture’s International Co-production Fund, the festival includes Levan Akın’s “Offside” and Nathan Grossman’s “I am Greta” in its program. Additionally, directors Akın and Grossman are visiting Ayvalık to participate in discussions after the film screenings. Alongside a discussion on the climate crisis with a representative from the Greta Thunberg Foundation, Joseph Kullengard from the Gothenburg Film Festival’s industry section and three young Swedish directors are sharing their experiences in filmmaking workshops with students in Turkey.
