For increasing the possibilities of artistic exhibiting which have decreased during the pandemic period, the project uses the production of artist books as an alternative space for artists who try to render their works visible. The book itself is turned into an exhibition space by considering its physical state and the temporality of its pages as an exhibition. Within the scope of the project, a jury of five people selects three of the projects proposed by artists who live in Izmir and the neighbouring cities. The selected artists Mahinur Bulut, Emre Yıldız ve Seval Güres are matched with graphic designers Gizem Hız Altıntaş, Ziyacan Bayar and Emre Duygu, and create the book designs. The visual and content editing of the books is undertaken by Ceren Bulut Yumrukaya and Özgül Kılınçarslan while the printing production is done by Cevdet Kopmaz.

The book designs are produced with the Riso Print technique in a number of 100 copies per book. Training sessions are held to introduce this technique. The publicity meeting of the exhibition organized with the project results turns into a forum where the production and distribution processes of the artist books are discussed. After the launch meeting, the books are opened to digital circulation via video-sharing channels.

The project ‘Book Exhibitions: Artist Books’ is managed by Ceren Bulut Yumrukaya, coordinated by Özgül Kılınçarslan and Cevdet Kopmaz. Jury members are  Merve Ünsal, Özgür Demirci, Borga Kantürk, Umut Altıntaş and Melike Taşçıoğlu. It is realized in collaboration with the Dokuz Eylül University Fine Arts Faculty,  Karantina Initiative and Glugİzmir, with the solution partnership of DigiKedi, RisoTürkiye, Saral Photocopy Machines, and with the contribution of Comentarivm.
