Turkish and Syrian talents from different backgrounds meet in Gaziantep to bring the ideas behind their artwork to life. The event, in cooperation with the Ivan Theater Group, an arts collective that has staged many such events in Turkey, brings together several theatre groups under the same roof. Participants come together with educators and trainers in discussion sessions and brainstorm concepts before the play in order to best put their ideas on display. ‘Brahma,’ the name of the play, creates an interactive atmosphere, incorporating audiences into its production and execution. Creating an atmosphere of bonding and unity for Turkish and Syrian community members, the play offers insight to the problems of today through a telling of the storied relationship between the clergy, kings and the public in the year BC 526.
