Spaces of Culture

Starting in late May and running until the end of the 2018, ‘Weekly Film Screenings in Diyarbakır and Gaziantep’ aims to satisfy existing calls for and increase interest in high-quality films via building up a devoted community of moviegoers in these cities. The alternative film platform Başka Sinema, in cooperation with the Kırkayak Culture Center in Gaziantep, now features independent movies every Wednesday at Gaziantep’s Primemall Prestige and Diyarbakır’s Ninova Park Prestige halls. Having laid the groundwork through local workshops and efforts like Gaziantep Film Days with Başka Sinema, the project hopes to create a diverse environment where movie lovers and other community members can come together in a rich atmosphere of arts and fellowship.
