01/07 – 10/07/2019

Diyarbakır welcomes July with a summer workshop that focuses on the heritage and ecological significance of the city. The project, organized by The Chamber of Architects (CAT) and Another Kind of Workshop, creates a platform for architects, researchers, designers, and anyone else who has an interest in the city’s agenda to meet. In four research workshops, the participants will document the varied and interwoven structures of destruction and building. The 10-day workshop aims to methodically and individually question the approach to urban issues related to the city’s housing, inheritance, and ecological problems. Within the frame of the theme ‘Documenting the Destruction-Construction Cycle: Housing, Heritage and Ecology’, participants have the opportunity to identify, document, discuss and understand the city as a space that is constantly in a state of flux, action, and transformation.
