”Mobile Music School” draws attention to the cultural value of traditional musical instruments by kindling children’s interest in learning how to build and to play them. The project introduces 14 children and youngsters in neighbouring villages of Diyarbakir to the traditional musical instruments of the region, and focuses on the production of and education on musical instruments. “Mobile Music School” is open to people who have limited opportunities to take musical education, while it also contributes to the continuity of the region’s cultural products.
The project assistants Nevim Tiryaki, Adar Bozaner, Eda Tapancı, and Serhat Nazlıer regularly visit the villages with the principle of one-to-one education, while they also undertake the production of the instruments to be provided to the project participants and follow up the trainings. The project is conducted by Mend Atölye with the collaboration of Ma Music Center and the Children First Association.
