The MA Music Center of Diyarbakır organized a music workshop with instructor Hakan Uyrum to offer training to 60 music teacher candidates. Uyrum, who hails from Amsterdam’s Aslan Muziek Centrum, distributed colored note cards along with boomwhackers and klankstavens (small toy xylophones) in order to examine opportunities in musical arrangements and training methods. The workshop also aimed at exploring the ways of free and confident expression in music as well as the effect of group discipline in music production. The workshop ended with the production of a collective musical piece within which the techniques of this training workshop were utilized.
