Art lovers in Diyarbakır have the chance to see the world-renowned theater production ‘Tartuffe.’ Originally written by French dramatist and writer Molière, the play is now being put on and performed in Kurdish in cooperation with Amed City Theater and the help of four theater students. Before rehearsals, the team will also run a workshop on dramaturgy and acting conducted by two educators from the Istanbul-based Boğaziçi Performing Arts Community (BGST). Audiences can expect a unique and relevant interpretation of the play from Amed City Theater, especially in light of the fact that ‘Tartuffe’ launched Molière to the top of the world theater stage through a particular emphasis on societal woes and their effects.
