In its fourth edition, ‘Diyarbakır Comparative Literature Days’ discuss the theme of “Truth in the Language of Dreams” in literature; considering the multilingual and multicultural landscape of Diyarbakır with the participation of guests from the fields of literature, social sciences, music, photography, cinema, and contemporary art. The project underlines the meaning of poetry in the relationship between language and truth while questioning the potential role of creative thinking and writing in the imagination of a past, present, and future where differences can respectfully coexist. Conveying content in different formats and languages such as Kurdish, Turkish, Armenian, Arabic, and Adyghe as one of the Circassian languages, ‘Diyarbakır Comparative Literature Days’ organises two poetry nights with 22 poets working in different languages, and a workshop for poetry lovers from Diyarbakır.

In collaboration with Morî Publishing, working on children’s literature in Kurdish, and ma music center, a leading institution for teaching Kurdish musical heritage to younger generations, organises “Şahmaran: Fairy Tale and Painting Workshop” during the program. In addition, Müge İplikçi delivers a talk about children and youth literature in collaboration with a private high school from Diyarbakır.

The program is designed in partnership with Lîs Yayınları, Wejeged Amed | Diyarbakır Literature House, and Diyarbakır Art Center, and realised with the collaboration of Everest Publications and Aras Publications from Istanbul.
