The project “One Civilization” is pointing out the common ground between the Syrian refugees and the Turkish host society in Gaziantep by exploring and depicting the common history and culture of two significant cities in the border regions of Syria and Turkey. The project features the main landmarks of Aleppo and Gaziantep in an artistic Pop-Up book with an interactive narrative language and emphasizes the cultural similarities and common values of the two societies. The moving figures are drawn, colored, and made ready for printing by the project team in order to create the moving pages of the book.

The book includes models of the most culturally significant buildings of the two cities and detailed historical information about these symbolic landmarks in Arabic and Turkish. In the exhibition where the production stages of the book are shown, the elements included in the book are made into decors, and large-scale models, as well as the original hand drawings, can be seen by the audience. The book production and exhibition organization in the project are undertaken by Ziya Hattat, while the drawings bear the signature of Roudi Rammo.
