Maen Jarrah
The project ‘Puppet House’ creates online puppet theatre by using the method of storytelling to present several stories to children in Arabic and Turkish. The purpose of these stories is to raise awareness about the COVID-19 pandemic by playfully reaching the children. The information given in the play is based on the World Health Organization instructions.
The shows performed by experienced actors are presented on social media platforms as well as on the project website. The puppet characters are handmade and are representing the different backgrounds children may come from in Turkey. Another aim of the project is to inspire women working in the field of handicrafts to use their talent to raise awareness and reach out to the wider community, and also to create a virtual space that is open to all children all over the world.
